About Project SAFE

The Help Group’s Project SAFE (Support and Advocacy for Family Empowerment) is a home-based parenting support program, originally developed through First 5 LA’s Partnerships for Families (PFF) Initiative, focusing on parents with very young children.

Home Visitation

Weekly home visits by trained counselors

Education

Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Children Development, Safety

Therapeutic Support

Strategies for managing stress, depression, & anxiety

Community Resources

Linkage to food, early childhood education, healthcare, social services, supportive services, etc.

Program

Eligibility

Families with at least one child under 5 may be directly referred by a DCFS Social Worker when closing out an investigation (no open DCFS cases). Currently pregnant/expectant parents or parents with an infant under 12 months of age may be referred directly through self- referrals or by other community providers (no open DCFS cases). Families must live within the San Fernando Valley/Santa Clarita Valley or in the West Los Angeles Region (Determined by Zip Code)
